What is Permanent Jewellery?
Permanent or welded jewellery is one of the newest and most intriguing trends happening right now. We use a simple welding method to secure the most beautiful, delicate gold or silver chain to perfectly fit your wrist, neck or ankle with a seamless, clasp-less finish.
Your choice of chain is welded on in six easy and safe steps:
1. CHOOSE YOUR CHAIN
Choose from a selection of our timeless 1.2mm – 2mm chain made from 100% recycled metals. We only use solid gold, silver and platinum as even the best gold filled or vermeil coatings will eventually rub off which to us is not permanent!
2. SELECT A CHARM
Add one of our charms to make it truly unique. From plain metal tags to precious gems and even diamond charms hand crafted in our workshop you can use a charm to make your jewellery totally personal.
3. MEASURE THE CHAIN
We will measure your wrist/ankle/neck to help you choose your perfect fit.
4. WELD THE ENDS
Don't worry! we use a protective layer between the skin and jewellery and using the highest quality, specialised jewellery welder, we perfectly weld the piece together.
FAQ's
Can you remove Permanent Jewellery?
Yes, although we love the fact these bracelets are clasp less and are the perfect 'forever' memento, they can be removed with a pair of sharp scissors. We can also add a clasp at any point if you decide to make it removable.
Do I need to remove Permanent Jewellery for an MRI scan?
Solid gold or silver does not impact an MRI scan as it is not magnetic. However some medical professionals ask you to remove all jewellery or clothing with metal parts. If your welded jewellery needs to be removed, simply cut the chain at the jump ring and it can be brought back to the salon to be re welded.
Does Permanent Jewellery require maintenance?
This jewellery can undergo months of wear without needing to be cleansed! To maintain the integrity of the link, aftercare can be used to remove debris or build-up.
Does Permanent Jewellery need to be removed through airport security?
Jewellery will only set off metal detectors if it's made from magnetic metals. Solid gold is not magnetic so will not set off airport alarms. Sterling silver is also not magnetic.
How much does it cost?
Prices range from £55 for a sterling silver bracelet to £300 for platinum. Please ask for a price list.
